Scenario :

How do I backup my Windows PC files to N2100/N4100?

Equipments :

• Thecus N2100 YES Box
• Windows PC running Microsoft Windows XP
• Router/Hub

Network Settings :

• N2100 is set up with fixed IP address : 192.168.1.100
• PC is set up with DHCP.

Procedures :

I. Download and Install TaskZip from the Internet

1. Download site : http://www.winsite.com/bin/Info?5909
2. You will need Winzip (http://www.winzip.com) or other software to unzip the download file.
3. Double click on TaskZip.exe to install TaskZip.
4. TaskZip will be installed in your Windows System.

II. Create a network drive of N2100 on your Home PC

1. Go to File Manager
2. Click on Tools > Connect Network Drive
3. Select a drive letter (ie: Y:) and enter \\1921.68.1.100\myfiles share (Note: assuming you have writable permission to myfiles folder)
4. Click on OK button

III. Create a Backup Job

1. Click on Start>Program>TaskZip to start the program
2. Click on New button on the menu bar to create a new backup job
3. Follow the instructions to select target, schedule, files to be backup.
4. A new Backup job is created and a zip file will be located in the target directory.

IV. To retrieve your Backup files

1. Go to Y:\, and double click on the zip file created by TaskZip. It will show you the files.
