How to confirm that your N2520/ N2560/ N4520/ N4560 OS6 NAS are able to retrieve updates

****************If your OS version is OS6.build_168~176****************
1. Please confirm that your PC or NAS is able to retrieve the correct IP address from download.thecuslink.com. The IP address should be 218.161.8.104.

2. If your NAS and PC share the same DNS, you can confirm this using your PC:
A. Windows key + R (Run). In the dialog box, type "cmd" and press Enter.
B. In the DOS command prompt window type=>"ping download.thecuslink.com"

C:\>ping download.thecuslink.com
Pinging download.thecuslink.com [218.161.8.104] with 32 bytes of data:

C. If the system responds with "download.thecuslink.com [218.161.8.104]", it means that your PC has reached the update server correctly. Therefore, if your NAS and PC share the same DNS configuration, the NAS should be able to update correctly.


**************** If your OS version is OS6.build_176 and above****************
1. Please confirm that your PC or NAS is able to retrieve the correct IP address from ftp://ftp.thecus.com/. The IP address should be 108.167.136.136.

2. If your NAS and PC share the same DNS, you can confirm this using your PC:
A. Windows key + R (Run). In the dialog box, type "cmd" and press Enter.
B. In the DOS command prompt window type=>"ping ftp://ftp.thecus.com/"

C:\>ping ftp://ftp.thecus.com/
Pinging ftp://ftp.thecus.com/ [108.167.136.136] with 32 bytes of data:

C. If the system responds with "ftp://ftp.thecus.com/ [108.167.136.136]", it means that your PC has reached the update server correctly. Therefore, if your NAS and PC share the same DNS configuration, the NAS should be able to update correctly.
