3Dnews, Russia: “It will be hard to find competition for the Thecus® N4520”
Bookmark and Share

12/20/2013-Vitaly Krilov from the popular Russian tech website 3Dnews has just finished testing the 4-bay N4520 from Thecus® and gave the device a very high grade.

3Dnews was especially impressed with the N4520's performance, thanks to the Intel® Atom™ SoC and its 2GB of DDR3 RAM. They have compared 3 different NAS on write and read speeds: “The differences between performance results are not big, so one can tell that all three perform almost on the same level. But the Thecus N4520 achieved that with a much lower CPU frequency. Besides, the Thecus N4520 is twice more economic than it's competitors, which is a great advantage.”

The N4520 is ideal for home and small offices: “…focusing on such home specific hardware details such as HDMI and SPDIF ports, the performance platform as well as the promising and very capable firmware allows us to admit that the Thecus N4520 is one of the most successful NAS for the SOHO segment.”

Finally, 3Dnews paid attention to the cost of the device, which makes it extremely competitive: “Priced at 17640 rubles, it will be extremely hard to find a competitor. Similar models from the above mentioned companies cost up to 25-30 % more.”
