The fastest backup in its class
Bookmark and Share

08/07/2013 – Designed to serve larger businesses with up to 32TB of storage, the Thecus® TopTower N8850's advanced features include an Intel® i3 processor, HDMI output, and support for 10GbE PCI-e cards. Making use of a more economical CPU and space-saving, 8 drive chassis, the N8850 provides users with a mid-range solution for their more advanced NAS requirements.

How does it compare?

US-based SmallNetBuilder positively reviewed the N8850, remarking on its swift throughput and improved power saving. In terms of its competitiveness against other NAS devices, the N8850 performed extremely well in NASPT write throughput (with the write cache effect helping it reach 133 MB/s), came second in iSCSI performance (both read and write)*, and first overall in attached backup throughput.

Furthermore, according to SmallNetBuilder's NAS Ranker, the N8850 came in second overall (behind another Thecus® product). So it's easy to see why SmallNetBuilder concluded their review by saying that, “[If] you're looking at powerful Intel-powered NASes that support optional 10 GbE connections, you should consider any of the Thecus Top Tower line.”

We're happy to hear that because we couldn't be prouder of the N8850. With its advanced specs and impressive array of features, the Thecus® TopTower N8850 is a powerful addition to any business's data storage strategy.
