04/15/2013 For a few years now Cachem has been a great source of information for whoever wants to learn more on the actuality surrounding the IT world. Thecus® is not new to the French blog. Last year, the N2800 found its way between Cachem's hands and received very good comments. To begin this year, it was turn for the N5550 to be analyzed, he results: “The N5550 pleasantly surprised us by its performance and in terms of quality of manufacturing. Thecus has deployed all its know-how in this 5-bay NAS.”

The N5550 from the Vision Series rhymes with quality! “This NAS is built around an Intel Atom running at 1.86GHz and 2GB of RAM supported. Yes, it is rather powerful ... It is to be noted that this processor does not require a dedicated fan. Connectivity wise, we can't be disappointed. In fact, the N5550 has 4 USB 2.0 ports and an e-SATA connector on the back. Also on this side, we note the presence of a VGA and HDMI and audio outputs! Finally, two Ethernet ports are still present. At the front, a USB 3.0 plug has been installed below the various LED lights.”

Finally, the great architecture of the N5550 combine with the ease of operation of the ThecusOS™ 5.0 provides what all users seek within a NAS: Performances! “It is to be noted that the N5550 surprised us with some nice speed peaks at +100MB/s.”
