“Green Thecus NAS for small businesses performed well”
Bookmark and Share

03/15/2013 For DiskIdee, online Belgium media, Thecus® is not something new. In the 2012, they had the opportunity to test one of the high performance tower from the TopTower series, the N8850, awarding it 4 stars. Recently, DiskIdee had the opportunity to try another model from Thecus®, this time; the N4800Eco was reviewed from head to toe. The result, DiskIdee gave a score of 4 stars out of 5 to the 4-bay from the Vision series.

The N4800Eco is a 4 bay network attached storage device oriented for SMB, SOHO and home users. Equipped with an Intel® Atom™ processor, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, two USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI output and two Ethernet ports for link aggregation, the N4800Eco is geared to give out great performance and respond to the demand of the targeted users. “We ran the NAS PerformanceTester 1.4 five times in “batch run” with a file size of 400MB. The Thecus N4800Eco held an average write speed of 107.14MB/s and an average read speed of 105.10 MB/s. Very nice scores.”

Here is the conclusion from DiskIdee: “The Thecus N4800Eco is a compact, high performance NAS server which, like the TopTower N8850, is built with solid hardware. The system supports up to four hard drives and supports the most common RAID levels. We are still very pleased with the ThecusOS that was design for business customers.”
