09/19/2012- The beginning of September was crowned by two very interesting events in India. On September 4th and 6th Intel® held the Intelligent Systems Forum 2012 in Bangalore and Mumbai respectively. While Intel® was presenting how their technology can be implemented in many fields to create a better, safer and more efficient life for everyone, Intel® embed solutions were on display for all participants to see. Thecus®, as a proud Intel® Embedded partner, was invited to exhibit and present what they had to offer. As the forum went on, participants had the opportunity to walk around the exhibitor section and see for themselves what kind of technology Intel® has available today.

Thecus® booth

For both Bangalore and Mumbai event, Thecus® displayed some if it's latest solution. Participants of the forum had the opportunity to have a closer look at the N2800, N4800 and N7700PRO V2. Both part of the Vision series, the N4800 and N2800 are equipped with a fanless Intel® Atom™ Processor. One particular way the 2 bay and 4 bay NAS takes advantage of this processor is by managing multimedia task. Also equipped with an HDMI output, the user can connect their NAS directly to an HD TV and play their stored videos, pictures and music without the use of a computer. The N4800 was set as a live demo for all to see the power of the Intel® Atom™ processor at work. The following shots were taken from the Bangalore event.

The N4800 and N2800 are also compatible with the new RED drives from WD. Especially design to perform into a multiple drive environment; the RED drives produce less heat and less vibration, making them a perfect candidate for NAS use. As shown in the picture below, the WD RED drives were shown on display in the N2800.

Here are some more pictures from the Mumbai event. Much like in Bangalore, the N2800, N4800 and N7700PRO V2 were on display. The N4800 was set as a live demo for everyone to experience the Thecus® UI and see the local display in action.

At the end of both events at the lucky draw, Thecus® presented a N2800 loaded with 2 WD RED drives of 1TB each. Congratulation to the lucky winners! Thecus® would like to thank Intel® for giving them the opportunity to participate at these events. Additional thanks goes to the Indian distributors Boston for helping Thecus® in Bangalore and Apical in Mumbai.
