Speeds that push the limit of gigabit Ethernet with features and great price to boot

12/26/2011The Swedish online publication Nordic Hardware is full of technical experts focused on taking a look at the most interesting technical products on the market and breaking it all down into a review that makes sense. They got a chance to look at Thecus's N2200XXX and N5200XXX NAS and put together some very thorough text and video reviews. Both models performed incredibly well in their testing lab and they had quite a bit to say about each one.

Thecus N2200XXX NASThe N2200XXX showed its power and features well: “Just like its big brother [The N5200XXX], it is based on a 1.8 GHz Atom D525 processor, which means that it does not have any problems with performance. The biggest bottle neck for performance in our tests was the network. With speeds of over 100MB/s, it is a very fast little box. It is also packed with features and it can basically do everything that its big brother can.”Thecus N5200XXX NAS

The N5200XXX is the best priced NAS on the market: “Big Brother has many similarities with the little brother and feels like a better combination of features and performance, it is also [noticable because of] the price. N5200XXX are among the cheapest NAS devices with room for five disks…Again, the performance is very good and in many cases we managed to push up rates well over 100MB/s.”
