15/12/2016 - Purchasing a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device for your business can be a daunting task. Thecus in collaboration with Microsoft allows this choice to be easier. Thecus offers 2-bay (W2810PRO), 4-bay (W4810) and 5-bay (W5810) Windows Storage Sever 2012 R2 Essentials NAS solutions. Unique in the NAS industry which is predominately Linux-based, these NAS are designed to help small businesses create a scalable, secure, and manageable infrastructure for user and resource management with the familiar and trusted Windows software.

Familiar interface

If your company requires a server but does not have any previous experience, the Thecus Microsoft NAS line has you covered.  Based on Windows software, these NAS work similar to a standard PC.  Without the need of an IT expert, even the NAS novice can easily start-up, setup  and use these servers, the Windows desktop interface after all is battle tested and familiar to everyone. For users who have pre-existing Windows environments, these WSSE NAS are an optimal fit for their business.

Renowned Microsoft Architecture

Through the Essentials Experience, an intuitive interface is at your fingertips, designed by Microsoft for users of all levels. The WSSE software includes many unique Windows Server features including Data Deduplication, Windows AD, native support for Active Directory, high availability  and scalability with Failover clustering and Storage spaces. These NAS provide strong multitasking for up to 50 clients with either Windows or Mac OS.

Microsoft Cloud Services

The WSSE software enables seamless integration with Microsoft cloud services Office365 and Microsoft Azure.

Office 365 is an online subscription service that provides email, shared calendars, online document creation and editing, instant messaging, web conferencing, a public-facing website, and internal team collaboration sites—all accessible from virtually anywhere, on nearly any device. Through out-of-the-box, ready-to-use integration with Office 365, Windows Storage Server 2012 R2 Essentials enables management of user accounts across both environments in a single place while providing users with single sign-on across both environments

Azure Backup
is a simple and reliable data protection solution that enables customers to back up their on-premises data to the cloud. Through built-in integration with Azure Backup, Windows Storage Server 2012 R2 Essentials makes it easy to turn on “offsite backups” to help protect against catastrophes such as a fire, water damage, or theft of the NAS. Backups are encrypted before transmission to Azure Backup and, after the initial backup is completed, only changes to the data on the NAS are transmitted to help minimize backup times and conserve bandwidth.

Huge Value. Free Windows License

Each unit includes an SSD that houses a FREE pre-installed Windows Storage Server 2012 R2 Essentials software license, which retails at $400US.
