“An accessible NAS for anyone needing four bays on a budget.”
Bookmark and Share

12/08/2014-The guys at Hexus were back in the lab again, this time taking a look at the recently released Thecus N4310.  They put their pen to the paper and this is what they had to say.

Features covered
With the demands given to NAS boxes today, it is vital to provide a feature-rich environment for users.  RAID modes 0, 1, 5, 6 and 10 are all supported, as is migration and expansion.  The highlights of the feature list also include, “iSCSI support, 128-bit AES encryption, mobile apps for iOS and Android, multiple backup options, as well as an array of built-in servers. These include FTP, Print, iTunes, DLNA Media and Photo, along with dedicated clients for Plex and BitTorrent.”

Energy Efficient
Keeping with the green theme, the N4310 is heavy on performance while staying light in energy usage. Excellent power-consumption levels for a four-bay NAS. Whether it's under-load, idle or extended idle (with drives spun-down), the Thecus N4310 is the most efficient box on show.”

Efficieny at work
“Priced at around £260, the N4310 offers four bays, USB 3.0 connectivity, decent performance from an energy-efficient, single-core processor, and a healthy set of features that includes home-user basics alongside various workplace-friendly services.”

Thank you to Parm and the rest of the team at Hexus for the review.
