Multimedia NAS scores best performance in group review
Bookmark and Share

05/27/2014- Considering the constant growth of demand for home NAS, PC Magazine in Russia conducted a large group test where they compared ten 2 and 4-bay home NAS from different vendors. The article was published in their May issue and even covered the state of the NAS market as a whole.

After reviewing the Thecus 2-bay N2560, PC Magazine shared its opinion: “For a network storage device with 2 bays designed for home use or the SOHO segment, the Thecus N2560 has surprisingly powerful hardware: A 1.6 GHz Intel Atom CE5335 processor and 2 GB of RAM. This directly impacts the transfer performance of the device: the Iometer test showed 152 IOPS (for a RAID 1 configuration), which places it second in this benchmark among all participants, including 4-bay NAS.”

As a result of such scores, the N2560 ranked 2nd among all NAS devices and won the “Editor's Choice” award: Among the 2-bay NAS, we awarded the Thecus N2560 with the 1st prize for its outstanding (the best in the group) performance in the random write tests as well as its rich connectivity: multimedia outputs such as HDMI and S/PDIF, which allow this NAS to be used both for direct connection to the home TV and as a digital signage server in the SMB environment.”

The complete NAS review can be found in the May edition of the PC Magazine.
