“The test results showed that this model is superior to many competing devices”

02/05/2014- Ferralabs in Russia is well acquainted with Thecus devices and most recently reviewed their latest 4-bay home and SMB NAS, the N4560: “Thecus is one of the leaders in the network attached storage market and we were interested to see the new model mainly designed as a multimedia data storage solution. Its major differences from its predecessors, N2520 and N4520, lies in a faster processor, the Intel Atom SoC CE5335 @ 1.6GHz, which guarantees excellent multitasking capabilities.”

The N4560's firmware earned special praise during the Ferralabs review: “The new device works on Thecus OS 6, which has an intuitive graphic interface, designed similar to a desktop's, so it's easy to set up the NAS in 5 minutes even for a not-so-technically-savvy user. Overall, Thecus OS 6 is a big step forward for Thecus.”

At the end of the review, Ferralabs described the target market for N4560 and listed some of the advantages of this device: “The Thecus N4560 is suitable for a very wide audience, which, besides convenient and reliable data storage, might also need the ability to set up their own media center, FTP server, as well as print server. The testing results showed that this model is superior to many competing devices. We would also like to stress such advantages of this new device as the HDMI port, antivirus module, IPv6 support, ability to work in peer-to-peer networks, and remote UPS monitoring. The Thecus N4560's price is also a great plus: for 17,640 rubles you will be hard pressed to find an alternative.”
